Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India is organizing a mega international food summit, World Food India in New Delhi from 3 – 5 November 2017.
A Hackathon would be organized coinciding with the World Food India event.
Description : As the world is becoming global market due to modern gadgets and use of modern technologies, devices, information technology and internet. There are changes in food habits of consumers and people prefer to taste food from different cultures, tradition and region; In India there are various types of traditional foods prevalent. Due to modernization people started working also from different part of the country in different department and sector located in different parts of the country and so it will be very useful if an app can provide information on all the major culinary methods in practices all over India. It will create lot of opportunities and can facilitate to have food of their choice while working in any part of the country. For example momos are Japanese product and became popular in India due to spread of its culinary information and techniques. Such app can help in saving, time, and energy and resources related to food processing. Such app will help to food processors. Nowadays lot of books are also published on such topic. It will surely enhance the marketing of the traditional, cultural and conventional food material.
The Food Processing Industry is one of the largest industries in India and ranks fifth in terms of production, consumption and exports. Food processing industry in India is a sunrise sector that has gained prominence in the recent years. Availability of raw materials, changing lifestyles and appropriate fiscal policies has given a considerable push to the industry’s growth.
