Description : The processing unit operations are product and quality specific. The information on crops and practices are required for selecting the processing operation and maintaining the proper quality standards. Raw materials should be inspected and sorted prior to primary processing. The inspection may include visual inspection for cross contamination by untargeted crops and plant parts, foreign matter and organoleptic evaluation such as: appearance, damage, size, colour, odour, and possibly taste. Appropriate measures of primary processing are dependent on the individual materials. Primary processing is the pre-requisite for further value addition of agricultural produce. These processes should be carried out in conformity with national and/or regional quality standards, regulations and norms. Some specific protocols, which are required for the farmers, should also comply with regulatory requirements in the country. The quality assurance measures can be insured through regular visits to cultivation sites and processing facilities by expert representatives of producers and buyers and through inspection authorities. This information can provide the guidance regarding crops and practices for the processing of active ingredients under an appropriate system for managing quality. For this, an app needs to be designed on which farmers can get a platform to interact with the processing and handling of crop materials according to their requirements.
