Educational and Skills are the bases on which the edifice of an innovative and developing economy is built. For the first time ever, the government has embarked on an extensive grass-root consultative process to encourage citizens to actively contribute to the development of the New Education Policy. Farmer Welfare

Farmers welfare has been given a renewed emphasis in the 2016-17 Budget. This section includes information on various policies adopted by the government to improve not only agricultural yield, but also to double farm income in the next five years and ultimately transform the rural economic landscape. This section presents details of irrigation projects initiated by the government, insurance programs launched for the financial security of farmers, measures taken for providing better fertilizers, development of allied sectors such as fisheries and animal husbandry and promoting good soil health practices.


Governance is the overarching framework of laws, policies and rules which sets the roadmap for the government’s effort aimed at individuals or the society. The Government of India has implemented the Digital India Mission to make all government services available to the citizens of India via electronic media. Health & Social Welfare

India has always been a world leader, spreading the message of peace, harmony, knowledge and wisdom. The Ministry of External Affairs has spearheaded efforts to promote a peaceful and stable external environment, which also leads to domestic economic development and poverty reduction. India’s foreign policy also recognizes that issues such as food security and climate change, while being crucial to the nation’s transformation, also require global cooperative solutions. Infrastructure is a key driver of the overall development of Indian economy. This sector focuses on major infrastructure sectors such as power, roads and bridges, dams and urban infrastructure. The changing infrastructure landscape in India has generated significant interest from international investors. Rural Development

Rural development involves both economic development as well as social transformation. The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing several programs through the State Governments to promote better prospects for economic development, aimed at poverty reduction, rural infrastructure habitant development, provision of basic minimum services and providing employment to marginal farmers/labourers to discourage seasonal and permanent migration to urban areas. This section has information on the major missions and initiatives, such as Rurban (Mission launched to transform rural areas and develop them to reduce the gap between rural & urban), Gramoday (focusing on the development work done in villages), the Ujjawala Yojana (for providing LPG cylinders in every household) and projects undertaken for providing clean drinking water.

The Government of India has taken a number of steps to foster growth in various technology sectors such as electronic goods manufacturing, software, computers and IT related products and services. The technology sector is playing a vital role in propelling the overall economic development in India. IT has transformed the world’s perception of India into a land of technologically innovative entrepreneurs.
