Now a days garbage problem is serious problem not in India but in World also. According to a report published in Nature journal, the problem of garbage or solid waste is assuming terrible proportions today. At present, people of India produce about 62 million tonnes of solid-waste annually. According to the report, urban India generates 109,589 tonnes of waste per day. We can also see that peoples throw the waste near to the roads, water bodies, grounds, railway lines etc which is polluting our country. It is often seen that waste material including inorganic material in those waste like plastic, paper, animal bones, glass pieces etc are dumped in open. Most of such places we can see animal taking them mostly cows, buffaloes, pigs and others. When they took these waste it also harm them. It can also be seen that it is mentality of some peoples that they will throw the waste into such places inspite of dustbins. The best example of this was canteen or work place like schools, colleges, government offices etc, where peoples took something and they throw them somewhere or remain them at their table where they were taking them. Most of them do same things but they didn’t throw those wastes into dustbins. It is the mentality of the people’s especially Indian peoples, if they will get something new which is related to technology or autonomous they feel tickle to look forward it. So keeping all things in mind a proposed dustbin model was prepared, which is a smart dustbin. In this the peoples have to show garbage in front of dustbin and it will open automatically and will close automatically after some time. The LCD display on top of it will show how much space is empty in dustbin. And when it get fill completely it display a message on the LCD display as “dustbin is full kindly empty it” and it will buzz the alarm so that people get inform that dustbin is full. As most of the peoples will use it more and more so they will throw garbage into dustbin which will reduce the garbage problem to some extent. Today’s era is of technology, and with the help of such small devices we can increase the ranking of India in world in terms of technology. And we can also use them in the achievement of smart cities. It is easy to implement with a little knowledge, and due to its simple circuitry and low cost it can be used in homes, schools, industries, colleges, offices etc. Using technology in home to home will make India a smart country in terms of technology.
