When it comes to energy saving, the energy management is the process of monitoring, controlling, and conserving energy in a building. Most of the homeowners aren\'t even aware of the term and take more of a haphazard, flying-blind approach to reducing their energy consumption. Towards this, there has been lot of research work carried out for conserving the energy. Most of the research spotlight falls on the field of controlling the appliance using the android devices where there are not much research on the field of energy conservation. Using the power of home automation, these state-of-the-art energy management solutions enable you to create a present schedule for the operation of your home’s systems. You can also use your mobile device to manually operate the systems even when you’re not at home. So, with the upcoming of machine to machine communication where devices can be connected wirelessly leading to IoT, we have developed an IoT based Smart Energy Management system where appliances like Fan and Bulb to start with are controlled wirelessly based on humidity and light intensity information. These inputs are used towards controlling the appliances intelligently rather than just switching on or off. In addition, the system also keeps computing throughput the day power consumption of the appliances which gives the user knowledge on power being consumed over a period of time. These retrieved details get updated at Cloud server. This prototype system developed will be achieving the energy conservation goal at every household. Also, we worked highly with software part enabling the customers to analyze their day today energy consumptions and can also predict their upcoming consumption bills.
