Nowadays most of the people leave their parents alone in the home and go for their respective jobs. No one is present to monitor their health. In case of any fall or mishap, they are left unnoticed which may be fatal or lead to incurable disease like hip injuries, haemorrhage, tachyarrhythmia which is approximate to a cardiac arrest. In order to reduce these type of risks in elderly people, we designed an affordable IoT product that could monitor the motion, the health of old people which can detect their fall immediately and alerts the caretaker by an auto-generated call. The wearable band is designed with Accelerometer Sensor and Gyro Sensor using which we have measured the rate of change of angle in respective sensors during various simulated falls and arrived at a threshold value for each of the sensors. Caretakers can also track their health parameters like the heartbeat, etc using an android app. This wearable technology can also be used for continuous health monitoring of intensive care patients in a hospital, the heartbeat of army persons working in extreme conditions. Falls inside bathroom may be fatal even for young, healthy people due to delay in the noticing time. In order to avoid this, we designed a smart bathroom which is capable of detecting falls using piezo tiles and alerts when a fall occurs. These type of bathrooms can be installed in houses, hotels in order to ensure their customer safety. The bathroom is equipped with IR sensors to detect the presence of a person and also we use Piezo tiles/ Force sensors to detect the falls inside the bathroom. The objects placed inside the bathroom occupies a maximum of 2 to 3 tiles whereas when an average person falls inside the bathroom he/she occupies at least 8 to 9 tiles which can be taken as a parameter to detect the fall and alert the concerned persons. These type of deaths can be prevented by installing our system inside the bathroom which will alert the respective authorities immediately when a fall is detected.
