Overall Vision To make the city safer in an emergency situation Target Group All individuals who encounter blood requirement at unforeseen situations. Customer Problem/Needs People undergo an emotional and acute pressurized situations when there dear ones are hospitalized. Any accidents, surgeries essentially require Human blood as a very important component of a day to day activities in the hospital. We get cricket scores live but not the availability of blood. Even in this smartphone era and technology being in the peak, Blood is still managed in Blood bank without proper estimation and stored based on the history/ statistics. We often see a lot of messages in the social media about the need of urgent blood. One might actively contact them and go for blood donation or just ignore like many of them. Currently, there are static websites which provides information but not real time. There are a lot of blood donation camps happening around. But there is a threat that our blood might get sold for a handsome price or misused. Improper storage also causes Blood spoilage. Hence, the donated blood becomes waste. There is a need to solve this problem of blood availability. It’s not just that blood is stored in the blood bank, because that is static. It is not dynamic also there is a storage, transportation, middlemen and other costs involved. Product/Technical Solution If we break the problem, there are three parts
1. Availability of genuine blood donors
3. TransportationAn application should target to fix all three of these. The proposed application basically consists of database of all the genuine blood donors of various blood groups. The app is location based and will continuously monitor or track the donor’s location. Whenever, there is a need for the blood, the most nearby genuine donors will be notified. One among them might pick the request and serve the need or just PASS the request. The notification will be based on the levels of urgency. (Example : Scheduled surgeries, Accidents, Blood transfusions all work on the set priorities) As the information is stored in the application and the location is always tracked, the transportation is minimal. There is no need to explicitly communicate to the donors by any other means. Donors will be notified of the Location of the patients where there is a facility for the process. Also, the data in the application is dynamic in nature. There is no need to panic and try to contact blood bank to check the availability of the required blood group. There is no need to maintain a scare blood group for a long duration in the bank. Additionally, the same can be extended to platelet donors. Human blood becomes highly available in the city. Hence, there is no panic. Value to Government We can develop a mobile app. The licensing can be decided on later stages or can be done as an affiliation for specific hospitals.
