Nowadays farmer prefers different irrigation systems in which drip irrigation is prime.Drip irrigation has the potential to save water as well as provides nutrients to the roots of plant. But the existing drip irrigation method is not able to maintain the exact amount of moisture level in the soil; excess water is harmful for the crops.The aim (of this proposed system) is to increase efficiency of drip irrigation by minimizing wastage of water, electricity as well as the human efforts.The proposed system uses a moisture sensor to sense the moisture level of soil and switches the pump ON when the soil moisture level is below the given threshold and vice-versa so that it will maintain exact amount of moisture level in the soil. The proposed system is provided with an android application, Wi-Fi module and GSM Module. Android application helps to set the moisture level required for the particular crop, and is also used to display current moisture level of soil and current status of pump. Wi-Fi module is used to get information on android mobile using android application. GSM module is used to send text messages of current status of pump and moisture level to the registered mobile number.
